At the Thirdline Downtown Pavilion in Dubai, Charlie presented Dubai Then which was a follow-up to the Dubai Next exhibition (Vitra Museum, Germany, 2008).

Dubai Then featured the installation of a 45-meter long fabric book with photographs of Dubai that investigated the cities particular type of multiculturalism. 

Another separate installation featured photographs of the City that had been taken by Charlie after the initial Dubai Next exhibition in 2008 that explored how dramatically the City had changed in only three years.
